Shannon Oelkers - Owner
Shannon Oelkers founded Integrity Environmental (formerly Kanaga Environmental, LLC) in 2010 to assist Alaskan companies with achieving environmental regulatory compliance and best management practices. Prior to Kanaga, she worked at the State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation in the Contaminated Sites and Terminal / Tank Farms division. Shannon holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Science and a master's degree in Community Development from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She has managed the permitting and contingency plans for over 25 bulk fuel storage facilities in central and rural Alaska. She has a strong depth of experience in the many regulations that influence bulk tank farm operations. Smaller operations, such as power plant generation and rural fuel farms, are also strongly supported by Shannon's expertise.
With over 10 years of experience in inspecting and auditing bulk tank farm operations, she is diligent about identifying and resolving potential problems before they become compliance issues with a regulating agency. Her experience and network within regulatory agencies has also proven useful in planning future capital improvement projects.
With her Master's degree in Community Development, and being a life-long Alaskan, she's well-versed in the unique challenges of completing successful projects in rural Alaska. In her off-time, she enjoys snow-shoeing, hiking to the top of the nearest ridge, and traveling.
